Remi SIMMONS
Prior to becoming a trainer, Remi had a successful career as a collegian
Athlete. He played one season at Garden City Community College in Garden
City, Kansas. Three seasons at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), and
one season at Central Michigan University due to a covid year add-on.
In the time he was at Garden City Community College, he had 25 receptions
for 405 yards in 12 games as a starter. Averaged 12.9 yards per catch and
scored three touchdowns. Named to Garden City Community College Dean’s
Honor Roll with an associate degree in science. These achievements earned
him a full-ride scholarship to Stephen F. Austin State University.
At Stephen F. Austin State, Remi continues his success as a 3 year starter for
the Lumberjacks. In his career at SFA, he piled up 104 receptions for 1,215
yards and 6 touchdowns. By his senior year he had become a team captain
and led the lumberjacks to their first winning season since 2014 with a 6-4
record. Remi soon graduated from SFA with a bachelor’s degree in
Kinesiology and a minor in sports business. After graduating from SFA he
enrolled into the transfer portal to weigh his options for better opportunities
with a team. It wasn’t too long before Central Michigan University offered him
a full- ride scholarship and he became a Chippewa.
At Central Michigan, Remi played in all 13 games and started in 4 of them. He
caught 16 passes for 256 yards. Remi and the Chippewa’s finished the
season 9-4 with a bowl game win against Washington State University in the
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. Soon after, Remi started his preparation for the
2022 Central Michigan pro day. He clocked a 4.50 40-yard dash, 15 reps on
bench press, and a 10’2 in the broad jump. With no interest
